Pharmap Survey: Digital is a strategic resource for 60% of pharmacies

The pharmacy is increasingly digital. Almost 60% believe it is important to use technology to relate to citizens and to offer an efficient and rapid service. If 40% of pharmacists manage digital channels in-house, 36% have decided to invest in the digital transition by relying on a specialized agency. Among the most used tools are Facebook (78,2%), Instagram (62,6%) and Whatsapp (66,7%).

These are the results that emerged from an online survey promoted by Pharmap, a leading company in Italy in pharmaceutical delivery. The survey, conducted throughout the month of October, was administered to 1716 pharmacies in the company's network on a national scale, with a response largely given by the owners (60%), with the aim of investigating 'inside the process of digitization of the pharmaceutical sector.

Results

The data highlight the willingness of pharmacies, the first health center in the area, to respond effectively to the need of the consumer citizen to make the exchange of information easier and more accessible and to access services quickly, without however doing without direct and constant relationship with your trusted pharmacist.

“Today, digital technology increasingly strengthens the relationship between pharmacist and patient”, declares Giulio Lo Nardo, Managing Director and Founder of Pharmap who explains:
“Only by fully recognizing the importance of a digital transition, the entire sector can respond quickly to the needs of all users and citizens, who recognize today's pharmacy as a very important hub of services and healthcare facilities. The numbers confirm how important it is for the pharmacy to become more and more, also through social networks, the place where the relationship between pharmacist and patient is more attentive, direct and constant".
