Keyfactor, la identity platform for IoT and computers designed for modern enterprises, has announced the launch of the new Keyfactor Community, which will offer developers, operational and engineering teams the knowledge and open source tools necessary to implement the best security solutions for their respective products and use cases.
Security is crucial to the success of virtually any business that develops related products or online services. Engineering and operations teams increasingly rely on public key infrastructure (PKI) and computer identities to securely build, deliver, and make usable applications. PKIs provide developers with a flexible and scalable tool that can serve as a foundation and be integrated into various business critical processes and infrastructures. The Keyfactor Community will offer the company's flagship products in the field of cryptography, PKI and digital signature in an open source version for the community, making them available to all users.
“Open source technology creates an opportunity for innovation through collaboration and fosters the transparency needed to build digital trust in the enterprise,” explained Tomas Gustavsson, Chief PKI Officer at Keyfactor. “Thanks to the new Keyfactor Community we will be able to work closely with industry colleagues and offer information resources and access to top-level knowledge in a secure environment. Developer teams have formidable responsibilities and powers in terms of making security decisions. Our intent with this community is to lighten their burden by granting access to our entire range of software through open source programs. "
Keyfactor Community users will have access to community editions of EJBCA, SignServer and Bouncy Castle, as well as free trials of enterprise editions on Azure and the AWS cloud. The community software already boasts a large user base with thousands of quality assurance workers downloading, testing and using each new release.
