Disney Launches Web3 Music Store in Collaboration with 3D E-commerce Platform Obsess

Disney has launched a Web3 experience for its Disney Music Emporium online store, in partnership with the 3D virtual e-commerce platform, according to TechCrunch.

Obsess is an e-commerce platform selected by Disney to participate in its Web3 acceleration program, launched in July. Visitors can listen to and discover music from Disney movies, with a virtual 3D experience by clicking on the vinyl records and CDs displayed in the virtual store.

Launched this week, the experience Web3 allows Disney fans to listen to and purchase soundtracks from Disney films and programs, including Encanto, Wandavision, Turning Red, Tomorrowland, Hocus Pocus, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Star Wars, The Lion King Musical and more

“We are thrilled to partner with Obsess to launch an exciting new shopping experience for our Disney Music Emporium store. As we prepare to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary, this is the perfect way to create discovery and fun for our guests, ”said Ken Bunt, President of Disney Music Group, in a statement.

At the convention of the D23 Expo company, Disney CEO Bob Chapek tried to avoid talking about the “M-Word” metaverse, referring to the company's adventure in the industry as next-generation storytelling. Disney later began working on projects involving emerging technologies, such as NFT, blockchain, metaverse and decentralized finance.
