Green energy technologies: new call from the Innovation Fund for small-scale projects

The second is open gang of the Innovation Fund addressed to small-scale projects focused on clean energy technologies.

The call has an overall budget of 100 million euro and is aimed at projects that develop innovative technologies and products on renewable energy,energy-intensive industry , capture,utilization and carbon storage, with a total capital cost included between 2,5 and 7,5 million euros.

Funded projects will have to contribute to green recovery of Europe, helping businesses invest in clean energy, stimulating economic growth by creating new ones local jobs and giving EU industry a competitive edge in general.

The call is intended to finance projects ad high technology content, processes, business models or products-services that are sufficiently maturi and with significant potential of reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases. Projects that are not deemed mature enough for funding will instead receive development assistance from European Investment Bank.

In particular, the notice supports the following organisers' activities:

  • activities for the innovation of low-carbon technologies and processes in sectors listed inAnnex I of Directive 2003/87 / EC, including carbon capture and safe use (CCU) and substitute products
  • activities that help stimulate projects aimed at CO2 capture and geological storage (CCS) in an environmentally safe way
  • activities that help stimulate innovative technologies for renewable energy and energy storage.

The subjects eligible to participate are public and private agencies e international organizations individually or in consortium and the actions must take place in the territory of one or more EU Member States, Norway or Iceland.

La deadline for the presentation of projects is the August 31th, 2022.
