Not just ChatGPT, education grows with artificial intelligence

New applications of AI in the case study proposed by Traction

A rapidly evolving sector, above all thanks to the contribution provided by new digital technologies, first of all theartificial intelligence (AI)

Estimated reading time: 5 minutes

THEeducation of the post pandemic is a place of experimentation, with new solutions dedicated to training and learning. An important role is played by generative AI, at the basis of the famous ChatGPT model. Yet, this is only one of the possible applications of technology in this field. With the'Predictive AI institutions and companies in the sector can personalize the relationship with students, creating a stable and long-lasting relationship.

Case Study

This is demonstrated by the case study proposed by Traction, according to which the use of advanced techniques predictive analysis for one of its clients operating in e-learning it quickly affected the number and satisfaction of students. The martech company, in particular, has recorded substantial growth in terms of in just four months acquisition, or acquisition of new members, engagement, or student participation, e the retention, or retention of members.

The project was implemented using the proprietary CRM platform with artificial intelligence AutoCust.

AI to improve acquisition

The low enrollment rate is among the main problems encountered by operators in the sector, who find themselves having to face increasingly strong competition. The use of predictive AI led to an increase in the case analyzed 23% of the conversion rate, measurable in completed registration forms. The price also drops in a mirror-like manner cost per acquisition, i.e. the cost incurred by the company for each new member.

An important result, determined by the possibility offered by technology to predict the user's real interest. Predictive AI monitors thousands of site sessions and generates perfectly tracked behavior patterns. If it deems it effective, activate promotions capable of providing the right motivation to complete the purchase.

All in session, i.e. before any abandonment occurs, and in a completely automated way.

AI to improve engagement

Reduced student involvement corresponds to a high probability that the training course will be interrupted, to the detriment of sector operators and the students themselves.

Thanks to predictive AI, it is now possible to associate each student with a behavior model. The lessons attended, the material viewed and the exercises carried out are just some of the indicators taken into consideration. Technology intervenes when a decline in participation is evident, with targeted actions such as sending personalized content.

In this case, the introduction of technology into the platform has led to a growth of 32% of the completion rate of courses, i.e. the percentage of courses completed compared to those started. An important data, as it measures alignment with students' expectations and needs. It then goes up 9% la average rating obtained by the students, demonstrating better assimilation.

AI to improve retention

A satisfied student is a student who will most likely not abandon the service they are using, and is inclined to leave a positive review. In the proposed case, predictive AI managed to reduce the abandonment rate of students, bringing it to a total of 9% against a precedent 15%. Plus sign for positive reviews, go up the 25%.

Once again, it is the analysis of student behavioral data that opens up a series of opportunities, showing any signs of possible dropout. Once the critical issues have been identified, the system is ready to remedy the problem, offering additional resources, online tutoring sessions and consultancy from teachers.

Thanks to a personalized approach, students at risk of dropping out feel supported and involved in the learning process. The technology constantly detects the results obtained and dynamically adapts the intervention strategies.

The challenge of education

An unprecedented opportunity, determined by a technology capable of adapting to different contexts with consistently high performance.

“With artificial intelligence – explained the CEO of Traction Pier Francesco Geraci – we are able to achieve today correct predictions in82% of cases. In the field of education, this translates not only into a better result from organizations and companies in the sector, but also into greater student success, understood and followed throughout their study path".

The transformation is underway, and artificial intelligence is at the center of it. For education, a great challenge, but also an unprecedented possibility for growth.

The numbers of the case study

Project carried out from September to December 2023. Analysis carried out on 3457 students of the e-learning platform for a total of approximately 56000 sessions.
